Καλὸ ταξείδι! - Bon voyage!

Holidays are going to be holidays! Last year they also were, just this year will be more beach, party and make little, very little.

Even with the spirit of visiting less places, travelling “low cost” and finish the trip in an Erasmus gathering of ex-students in Kraków, it didn’t avoid to make a trip that covers a wide range of Europe map. Really drawing a X on the it:

Lisboa – Corfu in Greece – via London. Some days of beach with real summer temperatures.

Corfu – Dubrovnik in Croatia – via Bari in Italy. In our last trip 3 years ago to Croatia there was a strong will to return. So it will be. This time to visit the city in the south of Dalmatia that we didn’t have time to see.

Dubrovnik – Krakow – this time for the definitive Erasmus gathering with my ex colleagues at Akademia Ekonomiczna. Even more at the city we all met each other. From México to Canada, the group promises to put the house down and the roof on fire like the old times!

Return to Lisboa – via Warsaw to visit old friends.

Bye bye routine, schedules and responsibilities! I’m going to rest my spirit, but not my body!

Or maybe not!...

New posts on this blog only in August.

Here are some photos of what is going to be visited…

From up to down and left to right:

Agios Gordis beach, City of Corfu, paleokastritsa beach and pelekas resort.

EIN, a tribute

It seems like yesterday…

What started as something small, few email with information about Lisboa, ended up to become a project that changed my life, my way of being and the way I see the world.

Last weekend I was on the typical up and down in Bairro Alto when a German guy calls me. He had study in Lisboa a year ago and participated in the activities.

He remembered the tours and parties we had organizes. We talked about them. The details. Recent memories! Talked about the present and future.

It was worth the time invested… and I miss the international contact in a daily base.

Short term friendships? Some might say that they are here for a short period and then never see them again.

The 5% with whom I still keep contact today are just priceless!

As someone wise wrote:

"The road to meet a friend is never too far"

The website still works, but the spirit of EIN, although alive in several countries and associations, didn’t found an up to level successor in my university:

New digital Passport

After a glorious saturday morning in the citizen shop in Lisboa, and later a stress run at lunch time in a week day to pick it up, i already have my new digital passport.
Alright! It's all so digital! The photo taken in the place, the signature, all done in a machine reminding the so popular crime investigation tv show CSI. Last one had a boat pulled by mermaids, but the new back cover has our 2 bigger poets, Luis de Camões and Fernando Pessoa. It gives a stylish look to the document.

Noticing that with my last passport i had several problems on far borders such as Turkey, Bulgary and Romania, let's hope that with this new one is better. At least doesn't seem a fake digital coloured copy like last one.

Above all, that i have at least the same amount of stamps has i did in my old one. And that it helps me to pass faster on the 4 check in's i'm making in my next summer trip.

A sentence to remember, listened several times in the citizen shop loud speakers:

“Ladies and gentlemens! Please keep your voices low! Wait in silence! Help us to improve the quality of our services!"

It didn't work...
